The 3rd annual Los Angeles Walk for Safety will be held Sunday, Sept. 25, starting at the Santa Monica Pier.
The event is presented by the Sarah Jones Film Foundation and Safety for Sarah, honoring the life of Sarah Jones, the 27-year-old camera assistant who was killed on Feb. 20, 2014, when she was struck by a train in Georgia while filming Midnight Rider. The incident sparked a widespread cry for on-set safety.
In addition to the L.A. event, the organizations will host an Atlanta Field Day on Oct. 9 at Oakhurst Park in Decatur, Ga.
The Sarah Jones Film Foundation and Safety for Sarah are both South Carolina-based organizations dedicated to safety on set and on job sites.
